"We the Sheeple"

This is in response to "

Pay no attention to the Wolves..." by We the Sheeple.

I totally agree with this blog. The Government has, no doubt, been using situations like the Boston bombings to pass laws behind the back of the citizens. Another example of this is during the James Holmes shooting while the movie "The Batman" was playing in the theaters. Many died, as well as injured during the shooting. During this time, they were trying to pass the law on gun control. Using that as an excuse to invade our 2nd amendment, which gives us "the right to bear arms.." During the whole incident in Boston, they passed CISPA. Honestly, I had no idea it was passed until days after the Boston Bombings. Yes, our government is very slick. If they can pass these laws by focusing on events like the Boston Bombing, imagine what else the government can pass under our noses. Apparently, CISPA is suppose to prevent us from cyber threats. I see CISPA as not only an invasion of privacy, but a threat to the lives of the citizens. Imagine what the government can put together with the use of our online profiles. They can set us up, get us in trouble we never intended to do. The government is shady, as we all already know, and something needs to be done.

Lowering the cost of education

"Almost everyone agrees the cost of higher education is at crisis levels – and the pain hits home regardless of political party.

The struggles continues. More and more students end up in unbelievably high debts after college, and some fail to graduate. What does it mean for that student? Well, for one, students who fail to meet requirements for graduation end up dropping out. Not only does this student fail to receive his degree, but he also has to return all loans and financial aid. I know what you're thinking, "he's screwed". Yes, many students are suffering due to the high cost of education. The media portrays college as a place of non-stop partying and getting wasted. In reality, students are suffering, being forced to even get a side job just to make ends meet.

Some believe that education should be free. But if education was free, then everyone would be a genius. Colleges would not have the funds to pay for teachers and staffs to run the facility. Free education would be great, but we also have to keep in mind that schools give jobs. Free education would just lead to disaster, jobs will be lost, and in the end no one learns anything. I believe that pushing for lower cost of education would be the best bet. The push for lower cost of education could mean spending a little bit more money for the government, but the US is spending money in outrageous things so why not spend a little bit on education? Students would be forced to focus more on making good grades instead of worrying about how they could pay their tuition. Lowering the cost in education would lead to more students, which in turn would lead to a very intelligent country. Education is not an excuse for the government to make money on, education is life. Without it, we would fail to advance into a better country. According to the Revolution, "fewer new buildings equal less cost: less cost to build, less cost to operate." With the use of the internet, cost can also be cut down. There are many ways in lowering the cost of education, but the question lies not on how they can push this, but when?

"Gay's should be allowed to marry" by erikc.

Some might say gay marriage is totally fine, while others oppose the idea of gay marriage. According to The Bible, marriage of the same sex is something that is shunned. In fact, it is a sin to engage in sexual intercourse with that of the same gender. As human beings, we were born with free will. We can choose our own path in life, we have the freedom to decide whether we agree or disagree on certain things. The United States is shaped by The Constitution, and this document tells us that we are born with rights. Immigrants come to the United States in order to attain this freedom that we have here. The government does not have the right to interfere with ones sexual status and I personally agree with this. However, I also know that this is a topic that contradicts with what my beliefs. In the end, we have no right to decide how an individual should live his own life. Indeed, "What gives you the right to judge?".

Education, does it have a happy hour?

The future is affected by one's course of actions, and staying on "the right path" is encouraged to ensure a successful future. Although my definition of success differ from others, we all work hard to attain the future we think about on a daily basis. While some inherit success through birth, many rely on the educational system to acquire knowledge, experience, and skills in preparation for the life ahead.

Parents work hard to save money in order for their kid to obtain a college degree with as little stress as possible. Thousands, if not millions, of students enroll in college with the intention of starting his career of life and earn money. According to the article "Student Loan Debt Crisis: How’d We Get Here and What Happens Next?", student loan debt is increasing, More and more students depend on loans to pay for the education needed for a good future. Drop out rates are increasing due to the increase in cost of higher education (The Fiscal Times). Although financial aid is available for students, some are still forced to take a student loan to cover the tuition. Where is the government in all this? Why does the government make it more difficult for their people to get education?

Intelligence shouldn't be kept away from the people, if anything education should be free. The United States has the potential of becoming the greatest country in the world, but making education harder to attain will hurt the nation. An educated nation would lead to major improvements in technology, medicine, finding cures for diseases, etc. The government should push to educate everyone instead of spending money on weapons and useless researches. If free education is too much, why not work to lower the cost? As a college student, graduating is important. I work hard to attain a good future for myself, and to live a life free from the stress of not having enough money. Having a large sum of debt after graduation is not something anyone would want, so why not provide the people with a helping hand?

Economics vs The Future

Political Animal readers continue to stick it to “Fix the Debt”
By Samuel Knight

The Great Depression of 1929; this is a topic that we are all familiar with. Millions of shares of stocks were sold in one day, but within just a few days prices fell. This was the start of what is known as the stock market crash of 1929. Many lost their jobs due to this crash, which in turn destroyed the economy. On top of this crash, severe droughts caused farmers to lose their farms, resulting in major food shortages that brought starvation. Countless of lives were lost and many were forced to leave their homes in order to find a better location to sustain their families.

Although our economy has improved over the decades, we still face the possibility of a major economic meltdown. Prices on gas, food, and our everyday necessities are rising on a daily basis, while our paychecks seem to get smaller and smaller. "You say let's cut tax rates so our economy can grow, but we tried that, and all it did was stifle and slow it", said Priscilla Bremser. The Government has been attempting to cut tax rates to provide a better standard of living for citizens of what many dream about as the "Land of Opportunity". On the contrary, this attempt caused many to lose trust in the government because all that they have done is make our lives harder. The Fiscal Cliff, for example, increased tax on a worker by 2%. Where is all of our hard earned money going? And Guess what? According to The Concord Coalition, national debt is projected to increase in the next few decades. When will we see improvements? Is this an environment that we want to raise a family in?

Many of us work hard to put food on the table and make use of overtime pay just to be able to live pay check to pay check. This blog shows the importance in keeping our economy healthy, so to speak. It is important to improve our economy rather than destroy it. A repeat of the Great Depression would be devastating. It would eventually make the country weak, raising the possibility of war. Raising a family in a poor economy causes heavy burden. With the decline in our economy there would be an increase in abortion, many abandoned children, and unemployment rates would skyrocket, redefining the meaning of what we presume to be normal. If our economy continues to worsen, then a life in the United States would become a nightmare rather than a dream. I believe that a powerful nation should maintain a strong economy, great military support, and the will to improve the lives of the people. For we are born to live a meaningful life, not a life of despair. The economy is in need of a change; a change to improve our future.

Obamacare, what's your stand?

Michael Tanner wrote a review on Obamacare in his post "Obamacare: Nothing to Brag About". Michael brought up the attention on how this plan may ruin the lives of many people in the United States. Instead of the promise by Obama to lower costs of health insurance, Michael Tanner informed us on the fact that health insurance premiums are slowly rising. "Healthy young people in the individual or small-group insurance markets can look forward to rate increases averaging 169 percent." As a young student, maybe working at a part time job, there's no way we could afford insurance with that kind of increase. Michael Tanner states that, "80 percent of young adults aged 18–29 not eligible for Medicaid will face higher costs, and that 20- to 29-year-olds on the individual market not eligible for subsidies will see their premiums increase 42 percent." How could a young person, like myself, afford insurance at such high cost? Many of us barely get through the day, and others live pay check to pay check. Such increase would devastate families, therefore it is "nothing to brag about".

OBAMA DEPLOYS KIDS IN PUSH FOR GUN CONTROL

“It’s a free country but I recommend there needs be a limit with guns. Please don’t let people own machine guns or other powerful guns like that. I think there should be a good reason to get a gun. I think there should be a limit about how many guns a person can own.”

This is a very interesting article on a very important matter that Obama has been trying to pass, "Gun Control". For quite some time now, Obama is been trying to pass a law for gun control because of the many shootings that has been happening. Many believe that this is some kind of trick Obama is playing that can put the country at risk, but many believe that this is a good thing. Wether or not this is good, we all need to take a look at what Obama is trying to do. In this article, Obama will be using children to push for gun control, for children plays a big role in this topic.
